Tamanu Oil Review! Does It Help Acne?

I first heard about Tamanu oil form the YouTuber Liah Yoo and she said it helped her acne scars so I decided to try it out and see how it worked myself.

So I looked everywhere and finally found it on Amazon 30ml for £12.95 but before we go into detail about the product lets chat about why you should use Tamanu oil on your skin!

Tamanu oil is antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial so it can really help with your acne, it’s also full of fatty acids and antioxidants that help nourish the skin preventing wrinkles and fine lines. It has skin regeneration properties that helps with your acne scars or just scars in general.

When I first tried out this product I was COMPLETELY amazed I woke up the next day casually looked in the mirror and realised that my acne scars were a lot lighter, I wasn’t expecting immanent results so I was shocked that I saw a difference in one night. After that initial day, I didn’t see any other extreme results but I have found it helps with my acne redness and calms it down plus it helps manage and lighten the scars.

The BIG drawback to this product is the fact that the smell is pungent! It’s not a light smell at all, its more like putting curry on your face ( yuck) but it does really work as an acne treatment and moisturises the skin so you have to way up the plus side with the negative and for me the benefits are too good to stop.

I do find after using this for about 4 months that I hardly smell it anymore but other people do tell me I stink when I put it on.

This is a very thick green oil (not thick enough to make you like the witch in OZ) it’s not as thick as olive or coconut oil but will take a while to sink in so if you have oily skin would recommend just putting this on your spots and scars.

As I said I found my Tamanu oil on Amazon the brand I use is green keratin which is cruelty-free, vegan, certified organic and the oil is cold pressed, It is made in the UK but the Tamanu Oil comes from Vietnam.

The packaging isn’t the best as in about a month the silver bit fell off but everything else works fine and it’s the best rated on Amazon plus it’s a cruelty-free brand which is a massive plus in my book.
